That was a weird cycle.
The good news is that I got to get my chemo treatment this past week. Lesser news is that it was delayed a week because of a cough I had. I was on antibiotics, and I couldn’t shake the cough. I took a multitude of COVID tests, all came back negative, but nonetheless, it was not fun. I received my transfusion in a private room so I wouldn’t cough/scare the other patients.
Missing one week of chemo did affect one of my cancer markers, but it also could have been from the infection that I was experiencing last week. Hopefully, my markers will continue to move in the right direction once I’m back to my regular chemo schedule.
I don’t like the idea of missing or delaying a chemo cycle, and as careful as I thought I was being, I’ll have to be even more diligent.
With the persistent cough and slightly stronger side effects this week, it was humbling. I felt a little bit closer to the experience that so many others have had. I truly have been fortunate that my reaction to the chemotherapy continues to be manageable.
I saw this video which kind of summed up how I feel:

Speaking of videos, I’ll share two more with you…
I found this to be a good primer on Pancreatic Cancer. It sums up a lot of info:
