This was taken on KT's bday. We got together and I didn't want to give her the medical news on her bday. Our friendship and her compassion was stronger than the fear of spoiling her day.

Raoul kept asking why I wanted to take a photo with them. “What’s up? What’s going on?” I kept saying I just wanted a photo with my friends. He was too inquisitive for my own good. I gave him a hard time.
A recent addition to my life, through marriage to one of my best friends, D. He’s been so supportive to me and her as she tries to give me professional, personal and spiritual support
He’s now a radiologist, looking at my MRI’s

Church and biking friend
This whole crew was asking why I was taking photos. I broke down and told a half lie to inquisitive Sam. I said a friend recently had been diagnosed with cancer and it made me realize I wanted photos with my friends because you never know what’s going to happen. He asked how long have I known this friend. I said pretty much my whole life. I felt like a jerk pseudo-lying. Later when I revealed that I was the “friend,” he had a good laugh and was gracious as we talked about our faith and illness and life
I guess we’re both either talking or laughing. I love this guy
I found a roll of slides at the opening of a shopping mall in Chicago. I guess my dad was using it as a background for a photoshoot of my mom and us kids.
